Who we are
E&T Abroad (etabroad.com) is a travel blog run by Eva and Tom. If you have any question about how we process your personal data, or want to exercise any of the rights described below, please email us at tomas@etabroad.com.
What data we process and why
Cookies and similar technologies — on your first visit we ask for your consent to individual cookie categories (functional, preferences, statistics, marketing). Consent is managed by the Complianz plugin; you can change your choice at any time using the button below or the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer.
Website traffic (Google Analytics 4) — if you consent to the “statistics” category, we measure anonymised website traffic through Google Analytics 4 (Google Site Kit). This tells us which articles people are interested in, not who specifically visited the site.
Contact form — when you write to us through the contact form, we process the name, email and message content solely to answer your enquiry. The form is protected against spam by Akismet.
Comments on articles — if you leave a comment under an article, we store the name, email and comment text you provide. Comments are also protected against spam by Akismet.
Booking and affiliate widgets — our articles use third-party widgets (Booking.com, Skyscanner, GetYourGuide) and links to social networks (Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn). If you click or activate these, those services may process your data under their own privacy policies — on our side this is only a link/embedded element, and we do not control the content of these services.

Legal basis and retention period
We process non-essential cookies based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Contact form messages and comments are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry, or operating the comment section under articles (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep data only as long as necessary for its purpose (cookies as set by your consent, typically 12 months; emails and comments until the enquiry is resolved, or for as long as the comment exists), after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, rectify it, request erasure, restrict processing, request data portability, and object to processing. You can withdraw your cookie consent at any time using the button above. Send us a request to exercise these rights by email at tomas@etabroad.com — we will respond within 30 days.
If you believe we are processing your personal data in violation of applicable law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the Czech Republic: the Office for Personal Data Protection, www.uoou.cz).
