Winter lovers travel to the Italian Alps in the north of the country, while the South offers popular seaside resorts. Italy is also the only country in Europe on whose territory there is still active volcanic activity. Unique sites include the ancient city of Pompeii, buried by the volcano Vesuvius. To this day, we can admire the remnants of the ancient Roman city, which was preserved by volcanic ash.
